Ready. Set. Go!!

This is my first official blog!! Whoop. Now i can catalog all my creative progress.

Over a year ago i had a beautiful bouncy baby boy, when he turned 7 months i realised i was losing my creative drive. I needed to do something but i didn't know where to start. It wasn't until I was on Youtube and came across several videos of d.i.y dollhouses. I was inspired. A light bulb went off in my head - If they can do it, why not give it a try. So I started working on a dollhouse replica of my home.

Question - Should it be a playable dollhouse for kids to destroy my non existent dollhouse?
Answer - No way!

The floor plans took a really long time to do for 2 reasons - Measuring everything in the house then converting them to dollhouse size. Also my son had just started to crawl so everywhere I went, he followed.

Question - What should I make it out of?
Answer - Because I don't have access to a wood workshop which would include power tools. Cardboard would require alot of layers of papier mache. So I decided to use foam board, it doesn't require too many papier mache layers.

Armed with a couple sheets of foam board, hot glue gun, craft knife, newspaper, PVA glue and water mix.

Next step - upload photos of dollhouse process stage 1.
